Keisha D. Mitchell has been a City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation senior-level professional for more than 10 years. She studied Human Resource Management at the City University of Seattle. During her tenure with the City of Atlanta, Keisha has been awarded the Employee Spotlight Award twice.
As a native Atlantan who “grew up” utilizing the City’s recreation centers, Keisha developed a passion for organized sports and mentorship. As a result, before joining the City of Atlanta she volunteered -- for more than a decade -- to coach and mentor dozens of youths. She realized early on how rewarding it is to help children identify skill sets, to learn team building, and to develop leadership traits. She’s never lost her passion for shaping brilliant minds!
Since joining the City of Atlanta Keisha has continually facilitated sports activities for all demographics, ranging from the very young (ages 3 to 5) to adults to senior citizens. She has also coordinated games and other engaging activities for these same age groups. Some of the programs she takes pride in particularly are the Senior Olympics, WNBA Community Service, and the Georgia Golden Olympics.
As a consummate volunteer and dedicated member of the Atlanta community, Keisha always finds time to support the Mayor's Office of Constituent Services Warming Shelters; as well as their transportation needs throughout the year. Additionally, Keisha continues to advocate for health and wellness by volunteering with the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance.
